Darryl reported that the presentation by Richard Corby and Denise Wherett on Hope Debt Advise had been well received at the Synod.  HDA is similar to CAP but more rural based covering Wensleydale and Swaledale and also Hambleton, Harrogate and Richmondshire Authorities.  It has 33 clients on its books with approximately £100,000 of debt.  HDA receives about 20% of its clients via referral from the NHS.

5.2

Dean John spoke of Ripon Cathedral Mission document, copies supplied to each Church, which sets out mission under four main headings; Growing a Worshipping Community, Promoting Spiritual and Built Heritage, Serving Diocesan Bishop in Mission and Engaging with Needs of the World.  Darryl asked if the PCC felt it worthwhile taking this Mission for our own.  In general, all agreed but opinion differed on how this would be presented.  Suggested that this be discussed further at next meeting when Members have had a chance to look at the document in more detail.
